Holiday Safety Tips

The holidays are always a special time of year when most of us will be spending time with friends and family. However, the holidays are also peak times when it comes to crime and theft which can take away the holiday magic and leave you stressed during the season.

In order to combat holiday theft and crime, it is important to always be aware of your surroundings and to take measures which can help protect you and your family both on the road and at home.
Here are some of our top holiday safety tips to combat seasonal crime and theft:

  • Always lock your home doors and windows while at home or when you leave. If you are leaving your home for an extended period of time, ask a neighbor or friend to watch over your home for you and be sure not to leave any valuables in the view of outsiders. Also, try not to spread the word that your house will be empty.
  • Ensure that your vehicle is ready for any type of drive or travel this season by having it inspected by the experts at our shop. A vehicle inspection will allow us to catch any issues early on if there are any and be able to verify that your vehicle will stay reliable during your travels.
  • When it comes to your car, never keep any valuables in view. Even phone chargers should be stored away because these can be enticing for a thief, thinking that they may find a phone inside your car. When sitting in your car, be sure to lock the doors and be aware of your surroundings.
  • If you are walking outside, be sure to look both ways before crossing the street and never have two headphones playing music loudly if you are alone. Stay aware of your surroundings and walk with others if possible.
  • Always drive safely during this season, and always. Remember, you can save your own life and the lives of others by not drinking and driving. On New Year’s Eve, be sure to have a safe place to stay or plan a ride home that does not involve anyone driving under the influence.

We hope that these holiday safety tips will be helpful when it comes to avoiding being a victim of car trouble, crime, theft, and more. Stay safe and Happy New Year!
